In Ghana, young girls work in the markets of Tamale under very difficult conditions, for a low income. We want to help them by providing training so that they can acquire new skills and avoid being exploited or becoming victims of human trafficking. Your generous donation will help save lives and promote the dignity of these young women known as Kayayei in Hausa, the local language.

Our project targets 120 young women aged 15 to 25 who are struggling for their survival. Many of them are desperate. The Justice and Peace Commission of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) created this project to address the urgent needs of these young women. We want to offer them the necessary resources for their development through basic education, learning sewing, weaving, and hairstyling techniques.

Goals of our initiative:

  • Combat poverty and the socio-economic challenges faced by kayayei girls.
  • Provide resources for entrepreneurship and loans to parents or guardians.
  • Address obstacles in education and professional development.
  • Ensure safer working conditions.

With thanks from Father Patrick Obai Emukule, M.Afr, responsible for project development in Ghana and Nigeria and the signature of Father Pam Dennis Dashong, M.Afr, Provincial.
