 DR CONGO - Appointment of the Bishop of Doruma-Dungu

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Emile Mushosho Matabaro, of the clergy of Bukavu, currently apostolic administrator of the diocese of Doruma-Dungu, as bishop of the same diocese. Msgr. Emile Mushosho Matabaro was born on 5 March 1967 in Bukavu. He attended the preparatory seminary of Mugeri-Katana, the Mgr. Busimba Major Seminary of Goma, and subsequently the Saint Pie X Major Seminary of Murhesa. He was ordained a priest on 17 September 2000 for the diocese of Bukavu. From 2007 to 2012, he studied for a licentiate in theology, and from 2013 to 2017, a doctorate in theology at the Universidad San Dámaso (UESD) in Madrid. He has held the following offices: parish vicar and parish priest in Ciherano (2000-2003); parish priest of Saint Pierre in Cibimbi (2003-2007) and of the parish of Bagira (2011); director of the diocesan Office for Social Works and Development (2011-2012); president of the Union of Diocesan Clergy (2011-2013); bursar and moderator of the diocesan Commission for Assets (2017-2018); episcopal vicar, chargé for economic affairs and chancellor (2018-2019); vicar general of the archdiocese of Bucavu (2019-2021). Since 2021, he has served as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the diocese of Doruma-Dungu. 

UGANDA - Resignation and Appointment of bishop of Kotido

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Kotido, Uganda, presented by Bishop Giuseppe Filippi, M.C.C.J.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Dominic Eibu, M.C.C.J., until now parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Cairo, Egypt, as bishop of the diocese of Kotido, Uganda.
Bishop Dominic Eibu, M.C.C.J., was born on 30 April 1970 in Lwala, in the diocese of Soroti, Uganda. After studying philosophy at the Queen of Apostles Philosophy Centre in Jinja, he gave his first religious vows on 16 May 1998 at the Institute of Comboni Missionaries in Namugongo, Kampala. He subsequently completed his studies in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He gave his perpetual vows on 12 January 2002 and was ordained a priest on 15 August 2002. He was subsequently awarded a licentiate in Arabic and Islamic studies in Cairo, Egypt, and then at the Pontifical Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Rome.
He has held the following offices: director of the Comboni Primary School in Khartoum (2005-2016); vice superior general of the Combonian Province of Khartoum (2008-2013); member and secretary of the College of Consultors (2013-2016); secretary of the Presbyteral Council (2013-2016); secretary for education (2013-2016) and since 2017, school director and deputy parish priest in Cairo.
He is currently parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Cairo, vice superior general of Egypt-Sudan, and member of the Education Committee of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.
