Bishops in Africa feel that they have the responsibility to speak out in the name of the people, or to take a stand on political issues when those in power try to implicate them. "La Croix" looks at some of the flashpoints.

The Central African RepublicThis was the case recently in the Central African Republic, where the Archbishop of Bangui, Cardinal Dieudonné Nzapalainga, publicly denied signing a political agreement sponsored by the Sant'Egidio community and various state officials.
